The development of ultrabright NIR-II emissive dyes has always been a research hotspot. In a recent study published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society, Tang et al. report a novel AIE lu-minogen that shows the highest quantum yield in the NIR-II region by far, enabling high-quality NIR-II bioimaging in vivo.
