香港城市大学Alex Jen教授线上学术报告

2022年5月27日,香港城市大学Alex Jen教授以线上方式与功能高分子材料教育部重点实验室的师生进行交流,并做了题为Integrated Material, Interface, and Process Engineering for Highly Efficient Organic, Perovskite, and Hybrid Devices

的学术报告。



Biography: Prof. Jen received his B.S. from the National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan and Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in USA. He has more than 1000 publications,75,000 citations,63 patents and disclosures and an H-index of 142.Professor Jen was elected as a Fellow by the European Academy of Sciences and the Washington State Academy of Sciences and also elected as Fellow for AAAS, MRS, ACS, PMSE, OSA, and SPIE. Prof.Jen was named as one of the “Top 10 university researchers in Perovskite Solar Cell Research” in 2018 and was recognized as one of the "World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds of 2015 and 2016 and as a "Highly Cited Researcher" in Materials Science from 2014-2021.


Abstract: Minimizing energy loss and increasing the field factor are key aspects to transcend the current limitations on the performance of organic photovoltaics (OPV).Our recent study on charge recombination in BHJ and Planar-Mixed Heterojunction (PMHJ) has shown both high photovoltaic internal quantum efficiency and high external electroluminescence quantum efficiency. Moreover, a new concept of applying ”Dilution Effect” is introduced to explain the commonly observed composition-dependent Voc and reduced photovoltage loss in highly efficient ternary-based devices due to significantly reduced phonon-electron coupling. At the end, several novel interface engineering approaches will be introduced.By integrating highly efficient OPV with perovskite, stable hybrid solar cells with PCE of >24% were achieved.
